Description: The Yuba River Fire Ban Area is an effort to visualize the Nevada County urgency ordinance approved in September, 2018. The 1320 foot (1/4 mile) buffer polygon surrounds the South Yuba River centerline which came from the National Hydrography Dataset. The centerline extends from Lang's Crossing below Lake Spaulding to the confluence of South Yuba River with Kentucky Creek below Bridgeport.This buffer analysis was performed by the Nevada County GIS Division in conjunction with the Board of Supervisors office.About the NHD lines: A feature-based database that interconnects and uniquely identifies the stream segments or reaches that make up the nation's surface water drainage system. This high-resolution NHD, generally developed at 1:24,000/1:12,000 scale, adds detail to the original 1:100,000-scale NHD. The NHD contains reach codes for networked features, flow direction, names, and centerline representations for areal water bodies. The NHD also incorporates the National Spatial Data Infrastructure framework criteria established by the Federal Geographic Data Committee.
